LONDON, 1 May 2026 — Soho's evening scene has a new sweet spot. Happy Crumb Bakery, a proudly British, queer-led bakery with a fiercely loyal following, has opened a permanent pitch on Rupert Street, right outside Rupert Street Bar, serving cookies baked fresh that morning and handed over warm from 3pm to 10pm, Tuesday through Saturday.
Baked daily in Happy Crumb's Battersea/Nine Elms production kitchen and warmed to order on-site, the menu is built around a signature trio: Classic Chocolate, White Chocolate, and the unapologetically rich Quadruple Chocolate. A plant-based Apple Crumble Cookie sits alongside them for something a touch more autumnal, joined by a rotating cast of dessert-inspired limited editions that shift with the seasons.
This week's launch special is the Bread & Butter Pudding Cookie — toasted brioche, custard cookie dough, gentle spice and a whisper of orange zest. It is, frankly, what Soho evenings were made for.
Happy Crumb's road to Rupert Street has not been a quiet one. Founded in 2024 from a home kitchen, the bakery was forced to pause after a flood took it out of action. Rather than fold, founder Grant Marshall-Koper rebuilt through markets, online orders, corporate gifting and West End event work — arriving at this permanent Soho pitch as something genuinely earned.
"This Rupert Street pitch is a real milestone for us," said Grant Marshall-Koper, founder of Happy Crumb Bakery. "After everything it took to get here, being able to hand a warm cookie to someone on a Soho street, on a Friday night, outside one of the most beloved bars in the neighbourhood — that's the dream. We're thrilled to be part of Soho."
Cookies are priced from £3.75 to £4.25, which feels rather reasonable for something pulled fresh from the oven and placed warm in your hand on a Soho pavement.
